3rd West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards holds October 18 -19, 2019
The third edition of the West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards, (WAMECA), an initiative of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) aimed at promoting media excellence in the region, is scheduled to hold between 18 and 19 of October, 2019.
The MFWA on Wednesday announced in a press statement that the date for the 2019 edition of WAMECA. WAMECA is organized to honor journalists who have, through original work, produced quality news, stories and information that has had significant impact on the lives of West Africans and the development of society.
The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) is “the biggest and most influential media development and freedom of expression advocacy organization in West Africa,” focused on promoting freedom of expression rights and media-led advocacy for peace building and more participatory governance in the sub region.
The conference brings together influential journalists, media executives and experts, editors, academics and freedom of expression advocates as well as high profile personalities from across the African continent to discuss the challenges of the media industry and ways to improve the performance of the media across West Africa.
