AAASME Appoints Amine Boultabi as North Africa Ambassador for Ubuntu-Susu SME Fund

The All Africa Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (AAASME) has announced the appointment of Amine Boultabi as Honorary Ambassador for the Ubuntu-Susu Continental SME Fund in North Africa.

The pronouncement was made by Dr. Ebiekure Jasper Eradiri, President of AAASME, during a parley with SME stakeholders from Algeria and other North African countries, commending Mr. Boultabi’s pivotal role in strengthening Arab–Africa relations through his organization, the Center for Arab Africa Investment Development (CAAID).

Dr Eradiri expressed confidence that Mr. Boultabi will bring the same energy and dedication to his new role in support of the $1.4 billion Ubuntu-Susu Fund. “The Arab-Africa relationship has prospered through the contributions of leaders like Mr. Boultabi. We are confident he will champion this continental initiative to empower SMEs and accelerate inclusive prosperity across Africa.”

In his acceptance, Mr. Boultabi pledged his full commitment to the Ubuntu-Susu mission: “Insha Allah, I will deliver in this new role on behalf of AAASME. Together, we will ensure that the Ubuntu-Susu Fund becomes a catalyst for SME growth and continental development.”

The brief ceremony, held at the Hyatt Regency in Algiers, Algeria, was greeted with applause from associates, partners, and guests.


Ubuntu-Susu: An Afrocentric Solution for African SMEs

AAASME, the foremost continental body advocating, supporting, and promoting the SME ecosystem in Africa, has been at the forefront of championing Afrocentric financial models for SMEs.

The Ubuntu-Susu Fund is designed as an indigenous African solution to African challenges, offering a pragmatic pathway for SMEs to access sustainable finance. Anchored on the AU Agenda 2063 vision – The Africa We Want, the Fund will empower over 100 million SMEs across the continent, fostering economic resilience and prosperity.


The Ubuntu-Susu Caravan

AAASME says the Ubuntu-Susu Caravan Sensitization Campaign continues its continental and international tour to rally support ahead of the Fund’s pre-launch later this year. After Algiers, the Caravan will move to:

  • Cairo, Egypt
  • Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Geneva, Switzerland
  • United Nations General Assembly, New York
  • Lagos, Nigeria
  • Paris, France
  • Lomé, Togo

The campaign will climax with the pre-launch of the Fund during the 2025 Africa Celebrates event at the AU Headquarters and UNECA facilities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
