6th All Africa IP Summit Heads to Dakar, Senegal, Nov 12 – 14, 2025
The 6th All Africa Intellectual Property Summit (AAIPS 2025), Africa’s premier IP event, is slated for November 12 – 14, in Dakar, Senegal, under the theme: Building an Inclusive IP Ecosystem for Africa’s Future.

African Newspage is the Official Media Partner of the 6th Africa IP Summit, being organized by the African Intellectual Property Centre (Africa IP Centre), a subsidiary of the International Trade and Research Centre (ITRC). The Summit, which comes on the hills of the successful 5th Africa IP Summit in November 2024 at Kigali, Rwanda, promises to convene Africa’s leading minds in intellectual property, innovation, policy, and trade for a three-day transformative convening.
Renowned for its conducive business climate, progressive economic systems, and thriving trade environment, Senegal stands out as one of the few African countries offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to citizens of over 60 countries. Its commitment to fostering innovation, empowering SMEs, and advancing inclusive growth makes it the perfect host for this year’s summit, continuing AAIPS’s pan-African mission of transforming Africa’s IP innovation and landscape.
The 2025 Summit will explore the theme: Building an Inclusive IP Ecosystem for Africa’s Future, addressing the key question: What is the IP Ecosystem We Want for Africa? How Can We Build It? This year’s summit will tackle the critical question of how Africa can create an inclusive, future-ready IP ecosystem at a time when global trade, innovation, and IP are more interconnected than ever. AAIPS is not just an event, it is a Pan African movement and continental platform for IP-related dialogue, policy alignment, capacity-building, and strategic partnerships.
As the world’s largest free trade area, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), will be at the heart of discussions at AAIPS2025, offering fresh insights into implementation and opportunities for regional integration. Following the adoption of the AfCFTA Intellectual Property Protocol in 2024, the 2025 summit will provide critical insights on the operationalization of the Protocol across AU Member states to advance Africa’s place in the global IP value chain.
