The 2024 YouLead Africa Summit 2024, co-hosted by MS-Training Centre for Development Cooperation and the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat under the patronage of Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Hon. Veronica M. Nduva, EAC Secretary General Venue: MS-Training Centre for Development Cooperation, will take place in Arusha, Tanzania come 4th to 8th November, 2024 in a hybrid format.

Youlead Summit prides itself as Africa’s largest and most diverse youth forum, one that brings together government, private sector and development policy stakeholders. Themed “Igniting the Potential of Africa’s Youthful Population; Reinstating Education as an Eminent Public Good,” this year’s Summit will bring together youth delegates from across Africa, youth-led and youth-serving organizations to brainstorm on how traditional/Pan-African knowledge can stimulate home-grown solutions.

High-profile speakers at this year’s Summit will Ms Chipo Cleopatra Mpemba, African Union Youth Envoy will be speaking at the Summit’s Gender Equality Forum – Arusha Debates just as Amb. Bankole Adeoye, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security will keynote the Arusha Peace Forum.

As usual, this year’s Summit will feature Youlead’s signature thematic days, namely the Under 40 Political Leaders Forum (Day One) which will examine the extent to which the existing policy and institutional environment concerning the standard of education enables meaningful youth participation and aspiration of the youth. Discussions at the Forum will seek to unpack what can be done to advance the quality and accessibility of Education in Africa.  

Likewise, Day Two of the Summit will feature the Under 40 Business Leaders Forum which will be keen to delve into the prospect of education contributing to the growth of innovation, business and entrepreneurship for young business leaders in Africa. At the heart of the agenda of the Forum’s existence will be youth inclusion in the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The outcomes of the Summit will serve as an invaluable resource for key actors as they consider the structure of Africa’s curricula, development plans and major education concerns that affect the continent in-depth. These will include methodologies, motivation, literacy, and professional development for the young population on the African continent.
