Press Release

EnovateLab is excited to announce the launch of Shenovate, a new initiative focused on empowering girls and women between the ages of 18 and 25 to develop digital and business skills and help them advance their growth by supporting their careers through mentorship and funding. The Foundation which was launched in 2018 has been a key stakeholder in the entrepreneurship and technology ecosystem Nigeria and across Africa.

Shenovate targets women from underserved communities, broken homes and disadvantaged backgrounds, arms them with the necessary tools and resources they need to compete with their counterparts across the country.  The program will support 60 ladies from all the 6 geo-political zones across Nigeria, for the period of 3 months. “We plan to take 30 ladies under the business track and 30 under the digital skills track”, says Ahmed Idris, EnovateLab’s Executive Director.

At the end of the program, EnovateLab Innovation and Impact Foundation will provide technical support to the 30 startups in the program through product design, development, growth and expansion, as well as in technology integration. The Foundation will partner to create linkages with community-based organizations for ease of mobilization of target program participants. The beneficiaries of the digital skills training will be prepped on interview strategies and will also be linked to job opportunities through our network of business partners and the startup community.

The official commencement date for application to the Shenovate programme was held June 6 and application closes on June 19th, 2022. Interested participants can apply here: https://bit.ly/Shenovatementorship
