By Stephen Enoch

The Nigeria chapter of the nonprofit New Faces, New Voices (NFNV Nigeria), is set to host its annual Women in Business, Export and Finance (WIBEF) summit virtually, between 1st and 2nd October 2021, with a focus on strategies to enhance growth and development of women-owned Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) during the pandemic.

The two-day virtual summit themed: “Thriving in chaos” is set to unlock ways in which women could flourish amidst the Covid-19 crisis, and would therefore feature discussions on how to leverage opportunities and growth possibilities in the agricultural sector. Thus, it would feature as speakers and panelists, experts in agribusiness, trade, and export, amongst others.

Founded by Graça Machel, NFNV is a pan-African women in finance network under the Graca Machel Trust (GMT) which seeks to ensure women significantly contribute to Africa’s economy by strengthening their capacity to do business and enabling them to have access to financing for their businesses.

The WIBEF summit is NFNV-Nigeria’s flagship event aimed at the growth and improvement of women-owned SMEs. Notably, the summit would provide participants with the opportunity to network among key industry players in business.

Amongst others, the summit will also look into the prospective influence of agricultural technology investment in fixing low productivity in Nigeria’s food production chain and the current traditional agricultural financing models in the country while the role of development partners and international agencies in aiding funding, investments and growth in the agricultural value chain would be a major focal point.

The summit will be live on Zoom, Facebook and Youtube. Intending participants for the forthcoming WIBEF summit 2021 can register to participate in the event here.
