Speaking at the fundraising event, one of the program’s sponsors Dr Akilu Sani Indabawa said when members of his generation were in school, education was totally free, however, he decried the fact that now that the situation was no longer the same people who are billionaires and millionaires do not care to support the education of less privileged children in the society.

In his speech, Barr Yusuf Ado Ibrahim, the executive director of Humanity Foundation Platform (HFP) said the Foundation was committed to providing free education to less-privileged children and young persons.

“The sponsor a child program seeks to sponsor twelve indigent children (6 boys & 6 girls) into primary and secondary schools respectively this year. We will provide for the selected beneficiaries school uniforms; school sandals; reading and writing materials; as well as school fees,” he said.
